Wholly Fit
Exercise: Everyone knows that exercise is beneficial, but most people don’t do it. Why? There are a number of popular excuses like: ‘we feel intimidated about going to a gym,’ ‘it seems like hard work’ and ‘we don’t have the time.’ You can even convince yourself that you can’t afford it. But the bottom line is that most people just don’t want to do it.
Each of us should educate ourselves on the benefits of creating a comprehensive multi-dimensional exercise routine that addresses strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility. You won’t be spending countless hours in the gym, regardless of whether you are the new everyday athlete or a professional athlete, because over training is just as dangerous as under training. Your workouts will be efficient and concise. They will be somewhere around 45 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week.
Regardless of your present condition, age, gender or athletic ability, the program you establish whould allow you how to make lifelong improvements to your appearance, strength, confidence and overall level of fitness.
Even if you're losing weight by eating less, you should include an exercise regimen. The merits of exercise — from preventing chronic health conditions to boosting confidence and self-esteem — are hard to ignore. And the benefits are yours for the taking, regardless of age, sex or physical ability. Performing regular physical activity impact every aspect of your daily life, including:
• Ease of movement
• Builds strong muscles
• Improves your posture
• Makes your joints more stable
• Decreases chronic pain
• Leads to better sleep patterns
• Improves emotional well-being
Exercise helps you manage your weight, but it is not just about weight. You want to loose fat pounds and gain lean muscle pounds. To drop those excess fat pounds, trade some couch time for walking or other physical activities. When you exercise, you burn calories. Exercise can consist of:
• Taking the stairs instead of the elevator
• Walking during your lunch break
• Do jumping jacks during commercials or turn off the TV and take a walk
Dedicated workouts are great, but activity you accumulate throughout the day helps you burn calories, too. Believe it or not, exercise can be fun. The secret is to keep moving doing whatever activity you enjoy from ballroom dancing to hiking to pushing your child in a swing to hosting a neighborhood touch football game.
